lights out...

Ben and my day off is on Monday. We love it cause the weekend is one of our busiest times of the week and then we get to relax. Kind of like having Saturday off for the business world. Yesterday we really wanted to get the office fixed up and looking nice and to deep clean some of the little areas that still needed to be cleaned since we've moved in. With all that aside we went out to dinner last night and ran some errands that ended up keeping us out til almost 10pm. That is really late for us to be out, minus when we are with teens or Sonshine Family. Last night we came home with a trunk full of groceries and other home owner purchases we found and the lights wouldn't turn on. I learned where the breaker was after a week of trying to figure out the stinkin dryer (a whole other mess) and the water heater... I went to check on the breaker and everything was on. Oh great, they shut off our power. We have been in our home for exactly one week and they shut our power off. I had been trying all week between work and church stuff to contact and have it all switched over but since I didn't know the urgency of getting it done it wasn't done asap. Well at 10pm we used our flashlight and got some clothes and our overnight things and then we unloaded the fridge and came to church and stayed in the missions apartment. Thank the Lord no one was staying there! We have figured it all out and we will hopefully have power tonight sometime but I think we may have plans to sleep Ricky & Lucy style for one more night.
Oh, how I love being a home owner. Its kind of like marriage. It looks romantic and then once you get it there are things that make you grow you sometimes don't want to go through. God is bigger than the power company and than my marriage... I guess I should just be thankful and let God strengthen my faith!

Good thing you had a place to go.

the thing that stinks is when it is your house it's your problem. no more calling the landlord to get things straightened out.

There's nothing wrong with sleeping like Ricky and Lucy! (kidding) Guess you need to have a priority check list. Did anything in your frig smell yummy when you got home?
